Seniors
Activities and meetings promote social connections, well-being, and participation for seniors, with the support of Pro Senectute, the Coffee Drop-in, and regional associations.
Pro Senectute
A community assessment, conducted using the « Villages Solidaires » methodology, has been underway in Jongny since September 2018. Supported by the Municipality, the initiative involves around 500 people aged 55 and over, representing one third of the residents.
Until April 2019, facilitators from Pro Senectute Vaud are tasked with giving all concerned residents and partners the opportunity to speak through interviews about the conditions and quality of life of Jongny seniors aged 55 and over. The main topics addressed during the assessment will focus on social connections, village identity, and most likely mobility within this village situated on the southern slope of Mont-Pèlerin.
The information gathered will then be presented and discussed at a forum scheduled for June 2019. Finally, a report containing recommendations for the development of projects and activities promoting the integration of seniors will be prepared.
All residents are warmly invited to participate in the meetings, with no registration required!
Permanence café
The motivation and enthusiasm of the participants have already led to the establishment of a weekly coffee drop-in, held every Tuesday from 14:00 to 17:00 in the Bergère Hall on the ground floor of the Municipal Administration, Route de Châtel-Saint-Denis 38. This friendly gathering allows anyone wishing to meet in a warm and welcoming atmosphere to chat over coffee or tea in a relaxed setting. Games such as Scrabble, chess, cards, and many others are also available. Do not hesitate to come – the door is wide open.
